 Here is an example of Henderson Garage Door Cones and Cable set and a pair of Cardale Cables/Wires which are the most common part to fail on a up and over type Garage Door.
A few reasons you would have to replace these parts are:
1. General wear and tear of the cones and cables.
2. The Garage Door hitting an obstruction which can cause the cables/wires to twist, snap or become tangled.
3. The garage door being lifted incorrectly as they are designed to be opened and closed from a central position at all times,by opening your garage door incorrectly you run the risk of problems noted in section 2.
Both cables must be replaced at the same time.
Please look at your Garage Door Roller Spindles as they may also be worn.
If the spindles show any signs of wear, now is the best time to change them.
This will help your Garage Door to work like new and would be more cost effective,as a 10% discount will be offered for purchasing both these tiems at this time.
Remember to always oil all moving parts of the Garage Door with WD40 or a silicone oil type spray
